A large question mark next to a VR headset

The short answer: There are plenty of questions about Sozo – Tower Defense, but only some of them can be answered today. So we sort every answer into one of three categories: confirmed by the studio, still unknown, and doesn’t exist. That way you can see at a glance what you can rely on.

How we classify the answers

  • Confirmed by the studio: it appears in the game description or the studio’s privacy policy.
  • Still unknown: neither the studio nor the store has published it yet. The store page was not available on October 10, 2026.
  • Doesn’t exist: it isn’t described in the studio’s information, and we don’t expect it.

Confirmed by the studio

What is Sozo? A tower defense game for mixed reality. Rifts open in your real walls, enemies walk along a path on your floor toward the Core Crystal, and you build towers next to it.

Which headsets does it run on? The studio lists Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

How much content is there? 160 levels across eight realms of 20 levels each, eight bosses, eight towers with three tiers each, 48 enemy types, and four powers.

Do I need controllers? No. There’s controller and hand tracking control. In the settings you choose “Auto,” “Controllers,” or “Hands.”

Can I play without my room? Yes, with the optional VR mode. It hides the room and places the play area on a fixed 3.4 × 3.8 meter surface. The gameplay is identical.

Are there difficulty levels? Five: Casual, Normal, Hard, Super Hard, and Ultra. Normal is the default.

Which languages are available? 14 languages plus automatic detection, including German, English, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.

Does the game collect data? According to the privacy policy dated October 6, 2026, no. No ads, no developer servers, no third-party SDKs, no microphone. The save file is stored locally.

Do I have to aim and shoot? No. The towers shoot. You build, upgrade, mark targets, aim the Prism Laser tower’s beam, use powers, and swat flying enemies away with your hand.

Are there in-app purchases? None are mentioned in the studio’s information. Gems are earned only by winning levels.

What happens if I get stuck on a level? After six losses in a row, you can skip the level, though without stars and without gems. There’s also a half-speed option.

Still unknown

How much does Sozo cost? Unknown. There’s no official price.

When does it come out? Unknown. No date has been published.

What age rating does it have? Unknown. In terms of content, the studio describes fantasy monsters with no horror, but the rating only appears in the store.

What’s the comfort rating? Unknown. The game is played standing, with arm movements.

How big is the download? Unknown.

Does it run on Quest 2 or Quest Pro? Not confirmed. The studio only lists Quest 3 and 3S. We advise against counting on support as long as it isn’t in the store.

Does it need an internet connection? Not stated in the store. According to the studio, the game doesn’t contact any servers of its own.

Who the answers matter for

A good fit if you play alone, like to plan, and own a Quest 3 or 3S.

Probably skip it if you want to play with friends, can only play seated, or are looking for competition through leaderboards.

Bottom line

Sozo’s gameplay mechanics are described in detail. The purchase details are still missing. Check the answers in the “still unknown” category on the store page once it goes live, before you buy.

Bottom line

Much of the gameplay content is clearly described according to the studio, but the purchase details are still missing. If you expect multiplayer, a seated mode, or leaderboards, you won't find them in Sozo.
